SUKAU: On March 13th, 2025, Sawit Kinabalu hosted a visit of 36 students and teacher from Gifu High School, Japan, at the Gomantong Estate and Sepagaya Mill. The group was split into two teams: one visited the mill to learn about the palm oil production process, while the other explored the estate to see sustainable oil palm cultivation firsthand.

Afterward, the teams switched locations, giving everyone the chance to experience both the estate and the mill, gaining a comprehensive view of the full cycle of palm oil production.

The students gained valuable insights into both plantation and mill operations, as well as Sawit Kinabalu’s commitment to sustainability. The trip fostered a deeper understanding of the palm oil industry’s balance with environmental conservation. We thank Gifu High School for the enriching visit and look forward to future collaborations.
