LAHAD DATU: On 18th May 2025, CBU had the pleasure of hosting 28 students from Nanyang Technological University (NTU), Singapore, at our Sandau Estate and Mill in Lahad Datu. The visit was part of NTU’s field course programme in Sabah, during which the group also explored various ecological and industrial sites across the state. The delegation was led by Prof. Eleanor Slade and Ms. Li Yuen.

During the estate visit, students were introduced to the day-to-day operations of oil palm plantation management and had the opportunity to experience the harvesting of Fresh Fruit Bunches (FFB) firsthand. At the mill, they were guided through the entire process of transforming harvested FFB into processed products, gaining insights into the operational flow from field to factory.

We hope the students found the visit informative and enriching, and that it has contributed to a deeper understanding of the oil palm industry from a sustainability and operational perspective.

Thank you, NTU, for choosing Sawit Kinabalu as part of your Sabah field course site. We look forward to welcoming you again in the future.
