On November 13, 2024, the Malaysian Palm Oil Green Conservation Foundation (MPOGCF) hosted a Fam Trip with key media partners to the Sg. Pin Conservation Area (SPnCA). The trip was also participated by Mr Wan Ahmad Nizam bin Wan Abdul Latif from the Ministry of Plantation and Commodities, Corporate Communication Unit. This visit highlighted the innovative conservation efforts led by the Sawit Kinabalu Group through their Conservation & Biodiversity Unit, demonstrating how biodiversity protection can coexist with sustainable palm oil production.

A key feature of the trip was a river cruise along the Sg. Pin River, which provided participants with a firsthand experience of the area’s rich biodiversity, including a close look at two orangutan bridges. This immersive journey underscored the importance of preserving critical habitats and the diverse wildlife they support.

At the core of this initiative is a commitment to reforestation, habitat preservation, and the protection of endangered species. The SPnCA serves as a prime example of how collaboration among industry, government, and conservationists can pave the way for a sustainable palm oil sector that promotes economic growth while safeguarding Malaysia’s natural heritage.

We are proud to support this transformative effort and encourage ongoing leadership in creating a future where business growth and environmental responsibility go hand in hand.
