In a recent barter arrangement the Sabah Forestry Department (Kinabatangan Office) represented by Mr Rio Peter and the Conservation & Biodiversity Unit represented by Mdm Rashidah Maqbool have engaged in a mutually beneficial exchange of tree seedlings.

The agreement entails the transfer of 15 Belian tree seedlings from the forestry department to the conservation unit. In return, the conservation unit provided 45 Pandan coconut tree seedlings to the forestry department. This exchange aims to support both reforestation and conservation efforts, enhancing biodiversity and promoting sustainable land management practices.
